At least nine people have died, including the gunman, and another seven were injured in a shooting at Allen Premium Outlets, a mall in Allen, Texas on Saturday.
Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd said at a news conference that six victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and another nine were rushed by paramedics to local hospitals.
Two of those who were transported later died, Boyd said.
Three of the wounded victims were in “critical surgery,” and four others were stable.
Allen Police Chief Brian E. Harvey said an officer was responding to an unrelated call at Allen Premium Outlets when he heard the gunshots and “neutralized” the shooter.
“He heard gunshots, located the gunshots, located the shooter, neutralized the threat,” Harvey said.
The shooter died at the scene.
