Donald Trump claims his supporters were "protecting" the Biden/Harris campaign bus in Texas.

In a bizarre twist, Donald Trump now claims his supporters were trying to protect the Biden/Harris campaign bus in Texas on Friday when they were trying to run it off the road.

On Friday, armed Trump supporters surrounded the bus on the highway and attempted to stop it or run it off the road. At one point they collided with a SUV. Eyewitness video evidence confirms this.

One individual who participated in the caravan and posted regular updates on the location of the Biden/Harris bus tweeted: “The Trump Train is in hot pursuit. Just a few of our great patriots out there.”

Their actions led the Biden campaign to cancel their event in Austin “due to security reasons.” Trump praised his supporters actions in a tweet on Saturday, writing “I LOVE TEXAS” with a video showing the incident.

Texas GOP Chairman Allen West called Democrats allegations of voter intimidation “fake news and propaganda” in a statement. “Prepare to lose,” he said, adding: “stop bothering me.”

Now, one day after the FBI announced they are investigating the matter, Donald Trump is trying to rewrite history. During a campaign stop in Washington, Michigan on Sunday, Trump claims that his supporters were merely “protecting” the bus.

Did you see the way our people, they were, ya know, protecting this bus … because they’re nice,” he said. “They had hundreds of cars. Trump! Trump! Trump and the American flag.”

The incident comes as Texas, once a reliably red state is now a toss-up as polls show a very close race between Biden and Trump. Trump is trying to hold on to the state he won by 9 points in 2016 while Biden is trying to be the first Democrat to win the state since Jimmy Carter in 1976.
