Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dismissing a report claiming he has ‘COVID toe’ and is demanding an apology from the Wall Street Journal which published the story referring to his toe injury as a lingering side effect of a recent COVID diagnosis.
The Journal cited remarks Rodgers made during an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” where he joked about ‘COVID toe.’ He told the host he “didn’t have any lingering effects other than COVID toe.”
On Wednesday Rodgers told reporters he has a “fractured toe” and that he “had never heard of COVID toe before,” according to ESPN.
For emphasis, Rodgers took off his shoes at a press conference to show his bare toes.
“Oh, there’s no lesions whatsoever. Oh, what a surprise,” he said.
Rodgers accused the Journal of spreading “disinformation” and says he expects an apology from the outlet though he says he did “get a kick out of reading that article.”
