Donald Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, has emerged as a frontrunner to be his White House press secretary.
Though there is no final decision yet, Habba is considered to be “the favorite for the role” according to Mediaite, citing four sources.
The report suggested the biggest roadblock to Habba securing the job is whether officials in Trump’s circle can convince her to take it.
“She’s expected to be at Mar-a-Lago this week for conversations regarding a potential role,” the source said.
The source added that it was Habba’s performance in court and on camera that won Trump over.
“Donald Trump is the premier programmer and producer-in-chief, he casts for the on-air roles,” the source told Mediaite. “Alina is camera-ready and tested on day one. But more importantly she’s battle tested after being in the frontlines with POTUS the last four years.”
Habba has a poor track record in court defending Trump. She represented Trump in his case against writer E. Jean Carroll where he was forced to pay over $80 million. She was also a member on Trump’s legal team in his civil fraud case in New York where he was ordered to pay over $400 million for inflating and deflating the value of his assets to secure loans.
While she failed in court, Habba was a constant presence in conservative media promoting Trump’s lie that the justice sytem is weaponized against him.
