Conservative radio host, Marc Bernier, 65, who was an outspoken vaccine skeptic has died of COVID-19, radio station WNDB announced on Saturday.
“It’s with great sadness that WNDB and Southern Stone Communications announce the passing of Marc Bernier, who informed and entertained listeners on WNDB for over 30 years,” the station said in a post on social media. “We kindly ask that privacy is given to Marc’s family during this time of grief.”
According to the Daytona-Beach News Journal, Bernier was an outspoken vaccine skeptic who said on his radio show in December that he would never take any of the COVID vaccines.
Weeks before he was admitted to hospital, he expressed anti-vaccine sentiment when he quote-tweeted a message from Florida Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried, urging people to be vaccinated with, “Should say, ‘Now the US Government is acting like Nazi’s. Get the shot!’”
Mel Stack, an attorney and friend of Bernier told the Daytona Beach Journal that Bernier has issues with vaccines for years. It was based on a personal experience how he believed vaccines had impacted people near to him. According to Stack, Bernier’s anti-vaccination views were not based on politics.
