Anti-woke Texas father who moved to Russia is sent to the front lines in Ukraine.

A Texas father who moved his family to Russia avoid ‘woke indoctrination’ of his children is being sent to the front lines in Ukraine.

In the spring, Derek Huffman, 46, relocated with his wife and three daughters, ages 10 to 13, to Russia seeking “traditional values.” The move is part of a Tim Kirby’s ‘American Village’ project.

Kirby, 43, is US-born blogger who has lived in Russia since 2006. The program is meant to create a haven for Americans who reject progressive cultural values and wish to embrace ‘traditional values.’ The project has been a massive failure as only two American families including, the Huffmans, have moved there.

In his new country, Huffman signed a contract with the Russian military to expedite the process of securing citizenship, according to The Kyiv Post. He also cited the signing bonus and wanting to earn respect in Russia.

Huffman has no military experience and was promised a job as a correspondent or a mechanic in a repair battalion because of his experience as a welder. But after two weeks of training in Russian, a language he doesn’t speak or understand, Huffman is being sent to the front lines amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

In a video posted to the couple’s YouTube page, Huffman’s wife, DeAnna, said he is feeling duped and pleaded for prayers for her husband.

“Unfortunately, he feels like he is being thrown to the wolves right now, and he is kind of having to lean on faith,” she said.

DeAnna added that she is “hoping that he can be utilized for his skills and not be used just as a fighter.”

She also reported that Derek’s deployment has resulted in financial difficulties for the family. Derek and the others in his unit had to “donate” 10,000 rubles for their own “supplies,” which was a huge chunk of his paycheck.

DeAnna said she hasn’t received the promised signing bonus yet.

The stress of their situation has caused DeAnna, a recovering alcoholic, to start drinking again.
