Ashli Babbitt’s mother arrested near the Capitol.

Truckers heading to D.C. say they want justice for Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt.

The mother of Ashli Babbitt, the woman who was fatally shot during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, was arrested in DC near the Capitol on the second anniversary of the attack.

Videos posted to social media show Babbitt’s mother, Micki Witthoeft, being arrested as other protesters slammed the officers.

Asked by a fellow protester whether she had any comment, Witthoeft said, “Yeah, Capitol Police suck ass!”

Capitol Police have not said why Witthoeft was arrested, but video shows she was ignoring officers’ demand to walk on the sidewalk or be placed under arrest.

Babbitt was fatally shot on Jan. 6 two years ago while attempting to crawl through a broken window leading to the Speaker’s Lobby during the insurrection. The officer who shot her has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
