At least three people were killed and five others wounded in a mass shooting on Michigan State University’s campus on Monday night.
Police say the suspect—a 43-year-old man—opened fired on an academic building and a student union area before fleeing.
He was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound hours later by police. Authorities say the shooter is “not affiliated in any way” with the university, and isn’t a student, faculty or staff member.
The five victims were taken to hospital where they remain in critical condition, according to the chief medical officer of the local hospital.
