Barr says Trump "lacks all self control" and should avoid testifying in hush money probe.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr says Donald Trump “lacks all self control” and should avoid the witness stand in the hush money case in New York.

“Generally, I think it’s a bad idea to go on the stand and I think it’s a particularly bad idea for Trump because he lacks all self control,” Barr told Fox News. “It’d be very difficult to prepare him and keep him testifying in a prudent fashion.”

Barr’s comments come after a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict Trump last week in connection to a hush money payment he authorized to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.

Barr slammed the indictment in an interview with Fox on Friday, calling it “an abomination” and “epitome of the abuse of prosecutorial power.”

“Based on the news reports, if they’re accurate, this is an abomination,” Barr said.

“They are going after the man, not a crime, and the legal theory, frankly, is pathetically weak,” Barr added. “The case is held together by chicken wire, paper clips, and rubber bands. It’s a lousy case. And it’s a shameful episode in our history where this local prosecutor is trying to affect the political process by bringing this case.”
