Barricades erected around Supreme Court after draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade was leaked.

Police swiftly erected barricades around the United States Supreme Court after a draft opinion was leaked on Monday night showing the conservative majority on the court leaning towards overturning abortion rights.

According to Washington Examiner reporter, Cami Mondeaux the security barricades were put up “just minutes” after Politico reported that the court is set to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and Planned Parenthood v. Casey which upheld a right to have an abortion that was established under Roe.

“Right now: Barricades are up around the Supreme Court building, just minutes after reports from Politico were leaked indicating SCOTUS has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade,” Mondeaux reported.

Politico reported the very rare leaked majority opinion by Justice Samuel Alito is supported by fellow conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.

It is not clear how Chief Justice John Roberts will vote or if he plans to join the opinion written by his fellow conservative justices or draft his own.
