President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign wished Donald Trump a happy birthday on Friday by highlighting some of the former president’s ‘accomplishments’ over the past 78 years of his life.
The list includes controversial comments Trump made during his time in and out of office, failed business ventures, bankruptcies, criminal charges, impeachments, his mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, his handling of the white nationalists rally in Charlottesville, Va. in 2017, comments calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, bragging about appointing the justices that allowed the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and calling dead service members “losers” and “suckers.”
The list also included links to media coverage of policy proposals including cuts to Social Security and Medicare and repealing the Affordable Care Act.
“Happy birthday, Donald. You’re a crook, a failure, a fraud, and a threat to our democracy, economy, rights, and future,” Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer said in a statement. “On behalf of America, our early gift for your 79th: Making sure you are never President again.”
Age remains a key issue for voters in the 2024 presidential election. At 78, Trump is just three years younger than Biden who is 81.
