Biden orders Trump White House visitor logs be turned over to Jan. 6 committee.

GOP lawmaker admits Republicans don't have the votes to impeach Joe Biden.

President Joe Biden has ordered that visitor logs from the Trump White House be turned over to the January 6 committee within 15 days, rejecting Trump’s claim of executive privilege.

Biden’s White House counsel, Dana Remus, told the National Archives in a letter the president had said: “In light of the urgency” the materials should be turned over to the panel within the specified time frame, according to the New York Times.

Remus said Biden decided that keeping the logs from the committee was “not in the best interest of the United States” after considering Trump’s claim that because he was president at the time of the Jan. 6 insurrection, the records should remain private.

White House visitor logs were public under President Barack Obama. Trump reversed this while he was in the White House claiming that making visitor logs public is a “national security risk”.
