President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he’s praying for the right verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin for the killing of George Floyd.
“I’m praying the verdict is the right verdict,” Biden said in remarks to reporters in the Oval office, according to the Hill. “I think it’s overwhelming in my view.”
Biden’s comments come as the jury is deliberating on whether to convict Chauvin who knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes last year.
Chauvin has been charged with second degree murder, third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.
