Biden secures Democratic nomination for president.

Biden says Trump 'snapped' after losing 2020 election: "He's clearly unhinged"

President Joe Biden has secured enough delegates win the Democratic nomination for president setting up a rematch with Donald Trump.

Biden became the Democratic Party presumptive nominee when he won the Georgia Democratic primary pushing him past the 1,968 delegates needed to secure the nomination.

Biden brushed aside two long-shot challengers, author Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN), on his path to securing the Democratic nod.

The president, however, faced protest votes in some primary states amid the fallout from his administration’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas that proved more effective than Phillips and Williamson.

“Four years ago, I ran for president because I believed we were in a battle for the soul of this nation,” Biden said in a statement released by his campaign Tuesday night.

He continued: “Because of the American people, we won that battle, and now I am honored that the broad coalition of voters representing the rich diversity of the Democratic Party across the country have put their faith in me once again to lead our party — and our country — in a moment when the threat Trump poses is greater than ever.”
