Biden, Trump to debate in June and September.

President Joe Biden and Donald Trump is set to debate as early as next month.

Biden challenged Trump to a two debates hosted by broadcast organizations in June and September. The campaign said the president would not participate in the traditional schedule and format established by the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates which they say starts after millions of voters have already casted early ballots.

The campaign laid out other terms for the debate, including no audience and only opening the microphone when it is the candidate’s turn to speak.

Biden took to X/Twitter Wednesday to post a brief video challenging Trump to the debates writing: “Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal.”

Biden followed up with a post on X/Twitter saying that he had “received and accepted an invitation from CNN” for June 27 debate after he returns from the G7 summit in Europe.

Trump accepted Biden’s challenge for the debates in a post on his Truth Social site.

“I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September,” Trump posted. “I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds – That’s only because he doesn’t get them. Just tell me when, I’ll be there. ‘Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!’”
