Biden's incoming deputy chief of staff calls GOP lawmakers "a bunch of f--kers"

Joe Biden’s campaign manager and the incoming deputy chief of staff, Jen O’Malley Dillon called GOP lawmakers “a bunch of fuckers” and called Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell “terrible” in a new interview with Glamour magazine.

Dillon defended Biden from criticism from the left over his insistence that Republicans would warm to the idea of working with him.

“In the primary, people would mock him, like, “You think you can work with Republicans?” I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible. But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that,” Dillon told Glamour. “From start to finish, he set out with this idea that unity was possible, that together we are stronger, that we, as a country, need healing, and our politics needs that too.”

McConnell finally recognized Biden as the president-elect on Tuesday one day after the electoral college affirmed Biden’s victory.

Unless Democrats can win both seats in the Georgia runoff on January 5, Biden will be faced with a Republican controlled Senate with McConnell as leader. Even though both men cut deals together during the Obama presidency, Democrats are worried that McConnell will prevent Biden from accomplishing his legislative agenda.

But, O’Malley is optimistic that the Biden administration will be able to work with McConnell to get things done.
