Biden's town hall had nearly 1 million more viewers than Trump's.

Someone’s not going to be happy to hear about this.

Joe Biden’s town hall on ABC last night drew nearly one million more viewers than Trump’s town hall aired on NBC, CNBC and MSNBC COMBINED!.

According to data reported by CNN, Joe Biden’s town hall averaged 13.9 million viewers while Trump’s town hall across three channels averaged 13 million. Nearly 1 million less that Joe Biden’s.

Staffers at ABC were reportedly shocked by these numbers.

The dueling town halls replaced what was suppose to be the second presidential debate between the two candidates. Trump withdrew from the debate after the Commission on Presidential debates announced that the debate would be virtual after Donald Trump tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Biden campaign went ahead and scheduled a town hall with ABC. Trump did the same with NBC, setting up a ratings war that they thought they would win.

While the Biden campaign downplayed the significance of ratings and predicted that Trump would draw a larger audience, the Trump campaign hyped it. Jason Miller a top campaign aide confidently declared that Trump was “gonna have a much bigger audience than Biden.”

The final debate is scheduled for next week, October 22, both candidates are expected to appear.
