A car crashed into a parked SUV in President Joe Biden’s motorcade outside his campaign headquarters in Delaware on Sunday.
According to Reuters , Biden and first lady Jill Biden was leaving his Wilmington campaign headquarters around 8 p.m. Sunday after having dinner with his re-election team.
As Biden was walking towards his car, a sedan with Delaware license plates crashed into another SUV protecting Biden’s motorcade that was parked at the intersection across the street from the campaign headquarters.
“There was a loud bang and POTUS was standing outside the vehicle with a surprised expression on his face,” a White House pool report said.
Secret Service agents surrounded the vehicle and instructed the driver to come out with his hands up.
Both the president and first lady were unharmed.
Secret Service spokesperson Special Agent Steve Kopek said in a statement: “There was no protective interest associated with this event and the president’s motorcade departed without incident.”
