Chef Andrés asks Coco-Cola to provide refreshments for Georgia voters.

Chef José Andrés called on Coca-Cola to provide food and drink to voters waiting in line to cast their ballot in Georgia in light of a new law making it illegal to do so.

“Dear @CocaCola @CocaColaCo We the People need your help! Will you help me and many more friends, during the 2022 election in Georgia, to feed and water people waiting in line longer that 2 hours, to simply exercise their right to vote?” Andrés wrote.

On Thursday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill overhauling the state’s election laws. The new law imposes new voter identification requirements for absentee ballots, empowers state officials to take over local elections boards, limits the use of ballot drop boxes and makes it a crime to approach voters in line to give them food and water.
