CNN boss slams 'stunning', 'uninformed vitriol' aimed at him by the left.

Chris Licht, the CEO of CNN slammed liberals for the “uninformed vitriol” directed at him as he attempts to make the network less partisan.

“The uninformed vitriol, especially from the left, has been stunning,” Licht told the New York Times. “Which proves my point: so much of what passes for news is name-calling, half-truths and desperation.”

Licht took over the network in May and has made some major changes since then.

Less than a month after he took over, Licht shut down CNN+, the network’s streaming service. He ended the decades old “Reliable Sources,” program. Licht also moved Don Lemon from prime-time to the network’s revamped morning show, and laid off hundreds of staffers earlier this month amid an ongoing reorganization.

Licht told the Times that he wanted CNN to offer a “rational conversation about polarizing issues,” and that viewers would “take what they’ve heard to the dinner table and have a discussion.”

“That’s a dream of mine,” Licht added.
