Coalition of Democratic Attorneys General urge the Supreme Court to reject Texas AG request to overturn the election.

A coalition of 23 Democratic Attorneys General are urging the Supreme Court to reject the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request to overturn the election in four crucial swing states.

The AGs argue that the Texas suit lacks legal merit and offers zero evidence of systemic voter fraud.

In a court brief filed in Texas v. Pennsylvania, the coalition led by Washington D.C Attorney General Karl Racine explains that Texas’ unprecedented lawsuit ignores our Constitution’s Elector’s Clause and threatens to upend the basic notions of federalism and states’ rights. Furthermore, the suit is based on false and inaccurate claims of fraud and Texas offered no evidence whatsoever of systemic fraud in the November election.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, said “the American people have made their choice and elected Joe Biden the 46th president of the United States.” She said the Texas suit is “nothing more than a faithless attempt to undermine the will of the people and have the courts choose the next president.”

The coalition is asking the court to throw out Texas’ lawsuit against the four states.

Also on Thursday, 106 House Republicans signed their own amicus brief in support of Paxton’s longshot bid to overturn the election results.

“This brief presents [our] concern as Members of Congress, shared by untold millions of their constituents, that the unconstitutional irregularities involved in the 2020 presidential election cast doubt upon its outcome and the integrity of the American system of elections,” the brief states.

Neither the House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy nor GOP Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney signed the brief.
