A couple was arrested on second-degree reckless endangerment charges after they boarded a flight from California to Hawaii despite knowing that they have the coronavirus.
Wesley Moribe and Courtney Peterson were told to not board their United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Lihue after they both received a positive test at SFO. The couple, along with their 4-year-old son boarded the flight anyway. They were arrested when they reached their destination.

The pair posted bail that was set at $1000 each and their child went home with a family member. Child protective services was also notified of the incident, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
All active cases are in isolation and people who came in contact with the couple are being identified, offered testing and told to quarantine, according to Kauai County health officials.

The couple could face up to a year in jail and may be permanently banned from flying on United Airlines.
