Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser will honor Dr. Anthony Fauci by declaring his birthday, which falls on Christmas eve “Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day.”
“In honor of Dr. Fauci’s 80th birthday tomorrow, I proclaim Thursday, December 24, 2020, “Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day” in Washington, DC,” Bowser tweeted. “We are incredibly proud to count Dr. Fauci among the many DC residents who are sacrificing so much to keep our communities healthy and safe.”

Fauci and his family have lived in the District since 1977, according to the mayor’s proclamation.
“Dr. Fauci has been a shining light in dark times for the nation, promoting truth over fear and giving Americans hope in their government,” Bowser added.

Fauci currently serves as a member of the White House coronavirus task force. He advised six presidents during his tenure as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases a position he held since 1984.
Fauci will serve as the chief medical adviser for President-elect Joe Biden.
