Republican senate candidate in Ohio, J.D. Vance shows he cares about what is happening in Ukraine after all days after claiming he’s not particularly interested in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Vance released a statement on Thursday blasting Washington elites and the decades old “policy of isolating Russia,” which forced the country to align with China.
He praised Trump for “the strength and diplomatic engagement that kept Putin in check” and blamed President Joe Biden “for his lack of leadership.”
Vance made no mention of Trump’s cozy relationship with Putin during his four years in office or his comments in recent days praising Putin’s justification for attacking Ukraine.
Vance’s comments is a dramatic shift from just five days ago when he told Steve Bannon that he does not care about what happens in Ukraine.
“I gotta be honest with you, I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or another,” Vance said. “I do care about the fact that in my community right now the leading cause of death among 18-45-year-olds is Mexican fentanyl that’s coming across the southern border.”
