Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) mocked Republicans for being stuck with Donald Trump despite his convictions and failed policies.
In an interview on Fox News, Walz who is reportedly being vetted to serve as Kamala Harris’ running mate, pushed back on suggestions that Democrats coordinated to push Joe Biden out of the race after he won the party’s nomination.
“Democrats are ready to move when the situation warrants it,” Walz said. “It doesn’t matter convictions, it doesn’t matter failed policies, the Republican Party is stuck with Donald Trump. He’s yours, you’ve got him, welcome to it. The Democratic Party can make our decisions, we pick our nominee.”
Biden dropped out of the presidential race on Sunday and endorsed Harris to be the Democratic nominee for president. She has reportedly secured enough delegates to officially become the party’s presidential nominee at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
