Democratic congresswoman release ad telling supporters to vote on the wrong day.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) released a campaign ad with one major blunder–the wrong date for her runoff election for Mayor of Houston.

The runoff election is scheduled for Saturday December 9, but in the ad, Jackson Lee urged her supporters to head to the polls “on or before December 7th.” The ad has been aired on Houston television markets, according to Mediaite.

In the ad, Jackson Lee touted her record in Congress “fighting to protect women’s reproductive freedom and for funding for our police, schools and small businesses.”

“Now, I’m running to be your mayor, because if we’re going to bring down crime, fix our streets and bring good paying jobs here, then Houston needs a champion who’s ready to fight for what’s right. And I am,” she said in the video. The ad ends with a graphic telling supporters to vote on the wrong date.

Jackson Lee joined the crowded field of 16 candidates in March all vying for Mayor of Houston. However, Lee and Texas state senator John Whitmire, established themselves as the top two contenders heading into the runoff election this weekend. Both candidates must clear 50 percent to win.
