Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis officially joined the race for president on Wednesday, though it was what he hoped it would be.
DeSantis made the announcement in a Twitter space with the platform’s CEO Elon Musk. But, the space encountered technical problems including the feed abruptly cutting off while music played and users were unable to join the space.
Trump mocked DeSantis after the disastrous launch on his Truth Social app, writing: “Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!”
DeSantis has hinted for months about a run for the White House. Even though DeSantis’ poll numbers have declined, he is still seen as Trump’s biggest obstacle to securing the top nomination for president.
