DeSantis brags about breaking Twitter spaces after disastrous launch.

Suspended Florida prosecutor calls DeSantis a "weak dictator"

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is claiming that he broke Twitter spaces following the disastrous launch of his campaign on the platform Wednesday.

After months of speculation, DeSantis finally announced he is running for president in a Twitter space with the platform’s CEO Elon Musk. However, the announcement didn’t go as planned because live-streamed event experience technical glitches.

DeSantis was widely mocked on social media with #DeSaster trending after the event.

In an interview with Fox News later Wednesday night, the Florida governor tried to save face claiming that the Twitter space crashed because of the large number of people that tuned in.

“We had a huge audience. It was the biggest they’d ever had. It did break the Twitter Space, and so, we’re really excited with the enthusiasm but ultimately it’s about the future of our country,” he said.

But, while DeSantis is trying to spin the disastrous launch as a positive, his rivals are mocking him.

“Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!” Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social media app.

President Biden also weighed in by tweeting “This link works” along with a link to a page to donate to his re-election campaign.
