DeSantis orders flags to be lowered for Hulk Hogan.

Disney sues Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis alleging a "targeted campaign of government retaliation"

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has ordered that flags at the state Capitol be lowered to half-staff to honor retired professional wrestler Hulk Hogan on Aug. 1, which he dubbed ‘Hulk Hogan Day.’

“His larger-than-life personality will be missed, as the “Hulkster” was an icon for many who grew up in the 80s and 90s as well as today. He was a true Floridian through and through,” DeSantis wrote in a statement.

Hogan, 71, died last week from a heart attack. He was also reportedly battling leukemia.

In 2015, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) cut ties with Hogan for using racial slurs in a resurfaced clip from the mid-2000s while referring to his daughter’s Black boyfriend.
