DNC rips Republicans who voted against COVID relief in new video.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) war room released a new video on Saturday blasting House Republicans for voting against the massive $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill that provides aid to Americans suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ‘American Rescue Plan’ includes funding for coronavirus vaccine distribution, reopening schools, rental assistance an additional $400 in weekly unemployment benefits, as well as a one-time stimulus payment of up to $1,400 for individuals or $2,800 for married couples.

Every Republican in the House–including the ones who never even bothered to show up–voted against the bill.

The measure ultimately passed by a 219-212 vote, with two Democrats, Reps. Jared Golden (Maine) and Kurt Schrader (Ore.) voting with the Republicans to oppose the bill.

The video included polling showing that the bill is popular among Democrats, Republicans and independents and more than 70 percent popularity among all Americans.

“Republicans didn’t care enough to show up on this issue,” CNN’s Abby Phillip said in a CNN segment played in the ad. “You might disagree with the details of the bill, but the idea that COVID relief is not something that is of paramount importance, I think everyone can agree on that.”
