The President of the United States—in the middle of a pandemic that has claimed over 147,000 lives so far and an ongoing economic crisis— is complaining about how his name often trends on Twitter.
Trump wrote in a tweet on Monday:
“So disgusting to watch Twitter’s so-called ‘Trending’, where sooo many trends are about me, and never a good one. They look for anything they can find, make it as bad as possible, and blow it up, trying to make it trend. Really ridiculous, illegal, and, of course, very unfair!.”
According to Twitter, their trends are: “Determined by an algorithm and, by default, are tailored for you based on who you follow, your interests, and your location. This algorithm identifies topics that are popular now.” So, Twitter trends are not determined by a bunch of deep state operatives out to get Donald Trump.
As to what exactly is “illegal” about Twitter trends, its anyone’s guess. This is why I am going to assume that Donald Trump considers Twitter trends to be illegal because he’s a whiny little thin-skinned bitch who cannot face the reality that the majority of the country hates his guts. And the fact that he let it be known that Twitter trends get under his skin, will only result in more vicious attacks, so buckle up.
