The Trump campaign new senior adviser for strategy, Steve Cortes was brought on to right the ship following a string of bad polls that got worst after Trump teargassed peaceful protesters in Lafayette Park so he could walk to St. Johns Episcopal church for a photo-op with a bible.
But according to Cortes, the problem with that was not the tear-gassing of peaceful protesters. The problem was that Trump did not go full fascist, reported the Daily Beast.
During the June 25 episode of The Steve Cortes Show, Cortes said:
“If Trump were the fascist that they pretend that he is, wouldn’t he have cracked down much, much harder on the unrest in the American streets?. To be quite honest, you know, when there were people being bloodied, cops being attacked, businesses being smashed, I could have used a tad bit more of a fascist Trump.”
According to the Daily Beast, Steve Cortes has a long history of making controversial comments. And they have only gotten worst as the odds of Trump’s re-election decreases.
He has repeated anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, most recently saying, George Soros is manipulating the Black Lives Matter movement to achieve the “nullification of America;” saying that the “propensity of Black people in this country to commit violent crime” meant that white criminals are actually the victims of police violence.
He also spread false information about the coronavirus and repeatedly call black celebrities, like Oprah Winfrey who condemn systemic racism, “ungrateful.” He also criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar for failing to show gratitude to the United States for rescuing her and her family.
