Donald Trump is starting realize that he may suffer an embarrassing defeat to Joe Biden this November.

It’s the one reality Donald Trump can no longer ignore–he may be on the receiving end of an embarrassing loss to Joe Biden this November. And in his own way, he’s starting to acknowledge it.

Trump spent most of the summer telling us that the polls showing him losing to Joe Biden can’t possibly be real because he has ‘boat parades.’ Now, he’s frantically trying to make up lost ground with suburban women and seniors, two voting blocs that were crucial to his surprise 2016 victory but have swung sharply against him in 2020 as the polls indicate.

He has resorted to outright begging suburban women for their votes without offering any meaningful policy proposals. As for voters over 65, Trump is literally trying to bride them by sending them money, while trying and for the most part, failing to empathize with them and their new normal as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

But the biggest indication yet that Trump is slowly waking up to the reality that he could lose bigly to Biden is, he’s openly musing about it as he travels the country on his farewell tour or as you might call them, campaign rallies.

He told his supporters at a rally in Georgia earlier this week that his future address may be dependent on whether or not he beats Joe Biden this November.

“Running against the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics puts pressure on me,” Trump said. “Could you imagine if I lose? My whole life, what am I gonna do? I’m gonna say I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics. I’m not gonna feel so good. Maybe I’ll have to leave the country? I don’t know.”

It is why he’s on the campaign trail every day hosting his super spreader events. The prospect of losing to the man he dubbed “the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics” is just something his ego would not be able to recover from.

But, it does not change the reality that he is losing. I know it. You know it. His powerful allies like Rupert Murdoch knows it. His allies on Capitol Hill know it, that’s why they are distancing themselves from him and in his own way, Trump knows it as well.
