Donald Trump literally left his supporters stranded in the freezing cold in Nebraska on Tuesday night after his rally in the state.
“President Trump took off in Air Force One 1 hr and 20 minutes ago, but thousands of his supporters remain stranded on a dark road outside the rally,” CNN reporter Jeff Zeleny tweeted.
Zeleny described the scene as “chaotic cluster” as Omaha police tried to find transportation for stranded MAGA supporters.
The Trump campaign bussed hundreds of supporters in to the rally site at Eppley Airfield after they left their cars in the parking lot. But the campaign failed to provide buses to take them back after the rally ended, forcing them to walk up to four miles back to the parking lot.
At least nine people were taken to the hospital, according to Omaha Scanner.
“One officer advising 8 to 9 elderly people who are struggling. Separate officer advising they have located an elderly party who is frozen cold unable to move with an altered mental status.”
It’s also worth noting that Trump’s visit to the state coincides with an increase in COVID cases. Nebraska has a positivity rate of over 20% and the average daily case counts exceeded 800 for nine consecutive days, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
Donald Trump’s rally in the Nebraska, a state he won by 25 points in 2016 shows just how desperate the Trump campaign is the final days leading up to the election.
