Donald Trump not using his free speech app ‘Truth social’ as team falls ‘flat on its face,’ report says.

Trump blames Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 'rigged election' in the US.

There are questions surrounding the future of Donald Trump’s free speech app, ‘Truth Social’ after its shaky launch last month and now Axios is reporting that Trump, the app’s founder and chairman doesn’t even use it.

According to the report, Trump has not made a single post since the app launched in the Apple App Store on February 21. Instead, Trump has chosen to comment on noteworthy events in interviews on Fox News or other conservative media outlets.

On top of that, the initial tech glitches that plagued the platform still persist. Some users who were placed on a waitlist after downloading the app and given a number are still waiting over a week later without any updates from the ‘Truth Social’ team.

“Question: Why isn’t Truth giving updates as to what’s happening? This is what people get after all the hype, radio silence? I have no dog in this fight since I have a Droid, which is also a problem, apparently. I’ve lost all interest,”one user wrote.

Some who managed to get in are losing interest in the site.

“I’m losing interest in Truth – they never let anyone new in, so there’s not many people there.” another user wrote, “I’m not giving up on them – just losing interest for now.”

“We are in, I get notifications of new followers from time to time, but without a desktop version and no telling when it’ll be more functional and robust? Same,” said another user.

The tech glitches, complaints of censure, copyright infringement accusations and Trump’s apparent lack of interest may have contributed to the hype surrounding the app dying down. Days later the app that once sat at the top of Apple’s download charts fell 56 spots.

As Axios notes, Trump bears some responsibility for the app’s poor performance considering he put together the team–headed by former Republican Rep. Devin Nunes– that’s so “far fallen on its face”.

Trump was kicked off mainstream social media platforms after the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. He announced plans in October to launch Truth Social, saying it would “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.”
