According to a HuffPost report, Donald Trump’s base of supporters have turned against in the wake of the Capitol riots that left five people dead including a police officer.
After he was impeached for a historic second time, banned from nearly every social media platform and businesses distancing themselves from the Trump brand. The President finally released a video condemning his supporters which he had incited and called for a peaceful transfer of power.
That video enraged some of his far right supporters who vented their anger in chatrooms on Telegram and fringe communities on Gab, CloutHub, MeWe, and far-right message boards such as 8kun.

They believe that the man they once idolize is now a “coward” and a “traitor”. Some even going as far as to call for his arrest and execution, according to HuffPost.
“So he basically just sold out the patriots who got rounded up for him. Just wow,” one user wrote in a 15,000 member pro-Trump group on Telegram.
Trump appeared to be losing control of the group he riled up in the first place. They seem more determined than ever to forcibly prevent Joe Biden from taking office, with or without Trump’s help.
“We don’t follow you,” another Telegram user wrote after Trump’s video. “Be quiet and get out of our way.”

In the wake of the Capitol riots, social media companies have taken aggressive steps to prevent far right groups from using their platforms to plan their next attack. As a result, those groups have migrated to lesser known sites.
CloutHub, MeWe and Telegram have gotten very popular in the App Store and Google PlayStore in the wake of the Capitol riots. Gab has also reported a surge in the number of people signing up every hour.
This as officials are warning there is chatter among some of these groups to stage armed protests in all 50 states Capitol in the days leading up Joe Biden’s inauguration. According to a joint intelligence bulletin from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and US National Counterterrorism Center, those threats can be attributed to “false narratives” that Biden’s victory in the presidential election “was illegitimate, or fraudulent.”
According to the report from Huffpost, there are calls to “burn down” the Capitol, launch “an armed revolt,” “pop some libtards” and “TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK WHATEVER IT TAKES!!” Some posts are more specific:“Civil War is here. Group up locally. Take out the News stations,” one person declared. “LET’S HANG THEM ALL,” another implored. “LET’S FINISH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.”
One member of an encrypted Boogaloo chat wrote, “theres a war coming, and cowering in your home [while] real patriots march with rifles … will make you a traitor.”
