Donald Trump’s large rallies where there’s little to no mask wearing and no social distancing are turning voters away from him in some key battleground states, according to a poll released by Democratic super PAC priorities USA.
Trump is viewed “much less” or “somewhat less” favorable because of his large rallies by voters in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
From the report:
In Arizona, 56% saw Trump less favorably because of his rallies compared to 26% who saw him “much more” or “somewhat more” favorably; in Florida, the split was 58% unfavorable to 22% favorable; in Michigan, it was 57% unfavorable to 25% favorable; in North Carolina, it was 55% unfavorable to 25% favorable; in Pennsylvania, the divide was 58% unfavorable to 22% favorable; and in Wisconsin, it was 55% unfavorable to 25% favorable, according to the poll.
53% of voters in these battleground states disapproved of Trump’s handling of the pandemic and 43% approving.
Even though it was a poll conducted by a democratic leaning group, the trends are similar to what we are seeing in larger national polls. Voters across the country aren’t satisfied with Trump’s response to the pandemic.
Trump is trailing Biden in every one of the above mentioned battleground states mainly due to his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
This is bad news for Trump since he was hoping that these rallies would motivate his supporters to head to the polls.
The left leaning group’s final state-of-the-race report shows Biden well-positioned to win the presidency, with the states solidly or leaning Democratic adding up to 334 Electoral College votes.
Trump on the other hand has 126 Electoral College votes in his corner or leaning his way, with the rest toss-ups, the report predicted.
