Elon Musk and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson shared a laugh over the possibility of Vice-President Kamala Harris being assassinated, with the tech mogul suggesting that no one has tried to kill the Democratic presidential nominee yet because it would be “pointless.”
In an interview on Carlson’s X show, Musk brought up a post he sent last month on X wondering why no one has tried to assassinate Harris or President Joe Biden after the second failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
“I made a joke which, I realize, I deleted, which is like no one is even bothering to try to kill Kamala because it’s pointless,” Musk told Carlson as the two dissolved into laughter.
“What do you achieve? Nothing,” Musk continued. “Just find another puppet.”
“It’s deep and true,” Carlson responded.
“Nobody’s trying to kill Joe Biden. That would be pointless,” Musk said.
“You actually put that up?” Carlson asked referring to the post.
“People interpreted it as though I was calling for people to assassinate her, but I was like … doesn’t it seem strange that no one has even bothered to try?” Musk replied, laughing. “Nobody tries to assassinate a puppet.”
“That’s hilarious,” Carlson said.
The backlash to Musk’s post last month was swift. Several X users called for his government contracts to be revoked while others tagged the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI.
He later deleted the post claiming it was a “joke.” But the Secret Service did not find it funny has opened an investigation.
