Elon Musk's X temporarily suspends account of Alexei Navalny's widow.

Elon Musk’s X social media platform restored the account of Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny after a brief suspension.

X/Twitter said in a statement that their “defense mechanism against manipulation and spam mistakenly flagged” Navalnaya’s account for violating the platform’s rules.

“We unsuspended the account as soon as we became aware of the error, and will be updating the defense,” the post reads.

Prior to her account’s temporary suspension Navalnaya posted a video blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for her husband’s death and demanded that his body be returned to his family.

Navalny, an anti-corruption crusader and vocal critic of Putin, was murdered in an Arctic prison where he was serving a nearly 20 year sentence on politically motivated charges.

Upon her return to X/Twitter Navalnaya posted a message calling out the Russian government.

“I don’t care how the killer’s press secretary comments on my words. Give back Alexei’s body and let him be buried with dignity, don’t stop people from saying goodbye to him,” she wrote. “And I really ask all journalists who may still ask questions: don’t ask about me, ask about Alexei.”
