Eric Trump: "My father built the skyline of New York City, and this is the thanks he gets?!"

Eric Trump lashed out at New York Attorney General Letitia James on Friday after Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Donald Trump and his companies to pay $355 million in penalties in his civil fraud case in New York.

In an interview on Fox News after the ruling, Eric Trump suggested that officials in New York are ungrateful to his father considering that he built the city’s skyline.

“You have a company like ours that have paid over $300 million in taxes to a city,” he said according to a clip by Mediaite. “My father built the skyline of New York City and this is the thanks he gets?! For doing absolutely nothing wrong? Not a dollar financial loss. The exact opposite. Hundreds of millions of dollars in financial gain.”

Engoron already found Trump, the Trump Organization and several top executives, including his adult sons, liable for fraud before the trial began. On Friday, he ruled that Trump and his organization must pay $355 million for falsely inflating and deflating the value of its assets to receive lower taxes and better insurance coverage.

Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump were also ordered to pay more than $4 million each and were barred from serving as officers or directors of any New York corporation or other legal entity for two years.

Donald Trump Jr. slammed Engoron’s decision and suggested it was politically motivated.

“We’ve reached the point where your political beliefs combined with what venue your case is heard are the primary determinants of the outcome; not the facts of the case!” Trump Jr. wrote on X/Twitter. “It’s truly sad what’s happened to our country and I hope others see it before it’s too late to correct course!”
