Evil": GOP governor slams Greene after she calls for a 'national divorce'.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) slammed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday after the controversial Republican congressman called for a “national divorce” between red and blue states.

“This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and—honestly—evil. We don’t need a divorce, we need marriage counseling. And we need elected leaders that don’t profit by tearing us apart. We can disagree without hate. Healthy conflict was critical to our nation’s founding and survival,” Cox wrote. “As Reagan said: “These visitors…do not come as white or black…they are not Jews or Christians; conservatives or liberals; or Democrats or Republicans. They are Americans awed by what has gone before, proud of what for them is still … a shining city on a hill.”

Gov. Cox said he “saw American Exceptionalism” on display last week when “governors from all across the country met with the President to solve problems. We didn’t agree on everything, but we disagreed better. And we found ideas to bring us together. I still believe this is what Americans want.”

Earlier on Monday, Greene took to Twitter to criticize Biden for his surprise visit to Kyiv, Ukraine to meet with President Volodymr Zelenskyy ahead of the one year anniversary of Russia invading the country. Greene accused Biden of putting America “last” and called for a “national divorce.”

“We need a national divorce,” Greene wrote. “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”

Former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney also criticized Greene for her comments.

“Let’s review some of the governing principles of America, @mtgreenee: Our country is governed by the Constitution. You swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution,” Cheney wrote. “Secession is unconstitutional. No member of Congress should advocate for secession, Marjorie.”
