Father of Georgia school shooting suspect arrested and facing several murder charges.

The father of the suspected Georgia school shooter was arrested Thursday and is facing several charges related to the massacre.

Colin Gray, 54, is facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said in a statement.

“These charges stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son, Colt, to possess a weapon,” GBI Director Chris Hosey said in a news conference Thursday night.

Gray’s son, Colt Gray, 14, is accused of killing four people and injuring nine others in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia Wednesday.

Gray reportedly told investigators that he had purchased the AR-15 style rifle used in the killings as a Christmas holiday present for his son in December 2023, despite authorities notifying Gray about online posts from his son threatening a school shooting, CNN reported.
