Father of Michigan school shooter found guilty of manslaughter.

The father of the teenager who killed four students at a Michigan high school in 2021, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

James Crumbley 47, was convicted of four counts of involuntary manslaughter, which carries a maximum punishment of up to 15 years in prison.

Crumbley had bought his then-15-year-old son Ethan a 9 mm Sig Sauer as a gift a day after Thanksgiving, which he used to shoot up the Oxford High School in Michigan on November 30, 2021 killing four students and wounding six others and a teacher.

Prosecutors argue that Crumbley was “grossly negligent” because he bought the gun for his son days before the attack, failed to properly secure it, ignored his son’s deteriorating mental health and did not take “reasonable care” to prevent foreseeable danger, CNN reported.

Crumbley’s conviction comes months after his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

James and Jennifer Crumbley are set to be sentenced on April 9 at 9 a.m.

Their son, Ethan, now 17, pleaded guilty as an adult to murder, terrorism and other crimes, and was sentenced in December to life in prison without parole.
