Dr. Anthony Fauci will serve as President-elect Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser. The nation’s top infectious disease expert said he accepted Biden’s offer “right on the spot.”
Absolutely, I said yes right on the spot,” Fauci told NBC’s “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.

Dr. Fauci will serve as Biden’s chief medical adviser while remaining in his long-time role as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
This comes as the coronavirus continues to ravage the country. On Thursday the country set records for the number of new cases, deaths and hospitalizations from the coronavirus, according to data from the COVID Tracking Project.

To get the the virus under control, President-elect Biden is issuing a mask challenge to the country. He believes it would lead to a “significant reduction” in Covid-19 cases. So, for his first 100 days in office he’s going to ask every American to mask up.
