Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) said Donald Trump heaping praises on him makes his Fox News-watching Republican parents “proud.”
Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday that the “new John Fetterman is exactly what you said – he’s right, he’s right,”
Trump was responding to remarks Fetterman made earlier that day criticizing Democrats for speaking out against ICE raids targeting predominantly blue cities.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Fetterman said Trump heaping praises of him probably “made my parents proud.”
“They’re big Fox News viewers,” he continued. “My whole family is Republican.”
Fetterman continued to make the rounds in conservative media on Thursday bashing Democrats, this time saying New York City Democratic mayor nominee Zohran Mamdani is ‘not a Democrat.’
“Everything that I’ve read on him, I don’t really agree with virtually any of it politically,” Fetterman told Fox News. “That’s just where I’m at as a Democrat. He’s not even a Democrat, honestly.”
