Fetterman slams Harris on Fox News: “Lost the plot”

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) claimed in a Fox News interview that 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris “lost the plot” when she called Donald Trump a fascist.

“When Vice President Harris referred to President Trump as a ‘fascist’, and I knew absolutely we lost the plot at that point,” Fetterman told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday in a clip highlighted by Mediate. “If you call the president or someone like a fascist, you are effectively calling the people who are going to vote for him [the same thing] and then they must be fascist too… or they support fascism and those things. And that is just not true.”

“I happen to know and love a lot of people that voted for the president and they are not fascist, they are not Nazis, they’re not trying to destroy the constitution and all those things,” he continued. “They just happen to have different priorities and they love our country in the same ways that Democrats do as well.”

During the campaign, Trump also called Harris a fascist multiple times, but that fact appears to be lost on Fetterman, who spent much of Wednesday doing interviews bashing Democrats who are fighting for affordable healthcare.

Fetterman also argued that Democrats calling Trump “fascist” led to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Notably, the Pennsylvania Democrat made no mention of the Trump supporter who was arrested for threatening to kill House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D) after Republicans spent the last week calling Democrats and the Democratic base “Hamas terrorists,” “Marxists,” “communists,” “criminals,” and America-hating terrorists.
