Fire chief says Biden's Secret Service rental cars bursting into flames was not suspicious.

Nantucket Fire Chief Michael Cranson said there is nothing suspicious about the fire that destroyed five vehicles rented by President Joe Biden’s Secret Service detail during his trip to the island for Thanksgiving.

The cars mysterious burst into flames at the Nantucket Memorial Airport less than 24 hours after the Secret Service returned the vehicles. The Airport was briefly shut down because the blaze was within 40 feet of fuel tanks.

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service said the vehicles were rented from a Hertz outlet at the airport and no member of Biden’s family rode in the vehicles.

According to the Nantucket Current, the cars that were damaged during the blaze included a Chevy Suburban, a Ford Explorer, a Ford Expedition, a Jeep Gladiator and an Infiniti QX80.

Fire Chief Cranson said the blaze was not suspicious and officials are focusing their investigation on the white Ford Expedition as the initial source of the fire, according to the Current. The vehicle was scheduled for service recall by the manufacturer due to a faulty battery junction box that has caused fires.
