A typo on a flier in Florida explaining how to resolve minor traffic tickets online mistakenly directs motorists to a website selling Trump 2024 merch.
According to the Miami Herald, the flier explaining how motorists in South Florida could resolve their traffic citations online was suppose to direct users to the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts website. However, the web address printed on the flier left out a hyphen and so it redirects users to the wrong website.
The flier included the wrong address (miamidadeclerk.com), as well as the right address (miami-dadeclerk.com). The miamidadeclerk.com link directed users to a website that sells Trump 2024 hats and flags.
The fliers were handed out until last week before they were discontinued. Police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez said he did not know how long they were in circulation.
“We’re aware of this typographical error now,” Rodriguez said. “We put out a notice to officers to discontinue using them.”
