Florida venue cancels Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Jan. 6 event.

A venue in Florida has canceled an event that featured Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) after learning it was intended to commemorate the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Westgate Resorts in Kissimmee, Florida say they were unaware that the event was to commemorate Jan. 6 as it was pitched to them as a book signing.

“Please be advised that Westgate was not made aware of the purpose of this event when we were approached to host a book signing. This event has been canceled and is no longer taking place at our resort,” Westgate Resorts said in a statement to NBC News.

The outlet was the first to report the story of the cancellation.

The event was suppose to be hosted by the Republican Party of Osceola County.

Despite telling the venue it was just a book signing, local Republicans promoted the event as an “Exclusive event with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene” at Westgate Resorts on the “3rd Anniversary of Jan 6” according to NBC News.

Attendees were being charged up to $1,000 to meet Greene and “receive a signed copy of her book.”
