Former anti-abortion activist is now working to get out the vote for Joe Biden in Ohio suburbs.

An evangelical Christian who attended anti-Planned Parenthood marches in the past is now working to get Joe Biden elected.

Cindy Schmidt a former Trump voter in Ohio told MSNBC that Trump’s presidency is a “disaster in every way.”

She continued: “The George Floyd killing was so horrific. Our racial reconciliation process is useless and I saw so many problems in our whole nation, I thought ‘nope, this is not going to work for us.”

For her abortion was the top issue in the upcoming election. But, after researching the matter, she came to realize that “a president cannot shut down abortion tomorrow” since that’s not how a democracy works.

She credited her children for her change of heart.

“My sons and their daughters have been so kind and educating and saying, ‘Have you read this article? What do you think about this?’. They weren’t at all superior or shaming. They were just so kind. And it became clear that there was another path. I could break the Republican, evangelical, white, upper-middle-class place that I had lived in for so long,” she said.

Cindy is now a member of a group of women working to get out the vote for Joe Biden across the state.
